Dabo Swinney instills many core values into players from the moment they step on the field. His message is clear: football is the priority, but equally important is having the opportunity to win, to learn, and to lead beyond the field.

Leading up to the 2016 season, the idea of P.A.W. Journey was brought to life and led by Jeff Davis, former All-American linebacker and current Assistant A.D. of player relations at Clemson University. The program is an immersive and integrative approach to financial and professional well-being for Clemson’s football student-athletes.

The Journey consists of three foundational pillars, each offering a unique pathway for player development:

Striped seeks to build confidence, character, and personal growth in student-athletes through overcoming adversity. Learning to lead when it matters is the foundation for this pillar.

C.U. In Life focuses on the attributes of education, empowerment, and engagement by teaching transferable tools necessary for financial well-being and professionalism. The global outreach component of this pillar allows players the opportunity to take what they’ve learned to all corners of the world.

5th Quarter is the final rung that helps Clemson football players better prepare, find purpose, and generate passion for all things networking and professional development.

P.A.W. Journey encourages players to take a champion-minded approach to each facet of their life. “Passionate About Winning,” fosters purpose and professionalism through a rudimentary understanding of life skills that each player will utilize beyond college football. Opportunities to serve others in the community, develop as business professionals, and continue winning in life are found in every aspect of the program.

Be sure to follow Clemson Football on social media to learn more about P.A.W. Journey and the incredible individuals who make up this dynamic initiative.
